Description

This is a frock made from the original instructions that was intended to be worn over a shift and corded stays, and would have been kept in place by attaching to critically placed butons on the stays. The frock has narrow shoulder straps, which should site on top fo the shoulers not off the shoulders, with a fairly wide neckline.  This would be a beautiful frock in all white with enbroidered bands and sash, but works well iwth other fabrics for daily wear..

This frock should be above the ankle, and short enough to walk easily, but not shorter than mid-calk. It can have a one in ch deep tuck a few inches above the hemline. It gives body to the skirt, but can be let down to allow for growth.

The drawstring in the neckband adjusts the front neckline and shoulders, as well as the back neckline. After tied you tuck the entire bow inside the garment.
