Description
Choose from 4 caps that should always be made in white. The patterns were created from studying the caps shown on the carefully curled heads of wealthy women as depicted in art work, both in the United States and in the United Kingdom as well as from surviving caps seen in the study collections of costume museums. These delicate caps often used more than one textile in their construction; certainly several styles and widths of lace, including insert lace, and they seem to be on of a kind in general.
They would be worn with your upscale morning and afternoon dresses. Mairead is from a French fashion plate drawing. Marjorie and Morganne can be seen in “Costume in Detail” . Margaret is taken from a painting of an older woman.
Please read the entire instructions before you even cut the fabric. You will make beautiful and unique but period accurate caps.
