Description
This pattern is used to make Waist Coats…aks VESTS from Size 34-52 in 5 variations.
A1- Buttons to the Neckline. This one has buttons (9) from the neckline to the bottom edge. This style would be typical for military as well as civilian, and owuld also be practical for warmth. It can be self-faced at teh upper portion, self faced all the way down center fronts, or, less commonlylined ot the center front with no self-faing. It is our opinion hat finer waistcoats would at least be faced at the upper portion, and ofteh faced the entire front edge
A2- Buttons only a few inches below the Necklone. This one has buttons spaced closer and kept dow from the neckline a few inches to allow the corners to flare open- which is good for fashionable neckwera. This syle requires at least teh upper portion to be self faced. This view can also be made with buttons as in views B and C1.
B- has a cutaway neckline at the center front,, and fewer buttons (6). This should be self faced in the upper portion.
C1- has lapels and buttons (6) to about mid-chet, at the roll point of the lapel. The lapels must be seif faced to show the proper fabric. The lower cetner fronts are lined to the edge, or self-faced, if preferred. (Note that the appels should NOT be pressed out flat, but should roll out)
C2- is the same as C1, with the addition of buttons extending upward in line with the eedge of the lapels. These additoinal buttons are for decoration only.
