The WALKING SKIRT or DAY SKIRTS (circa later 1800's)

are a wonderful example of the elegance and "moderness" of the day. Their sleek A-line shapes, or much smaller circumference skirts made life much easier for ladies. Yet, they still held onto elegance; some with "walking trains" that are tucked into a rear pleats on the back of the skirts. Some with more fullness in the back and a flatter sides and front linees. The back closures are covered button plackets and waistband buttons befitting the days before zippers.  Worn with a Waist (Blouse) and Mantelete or Victorian Ladies Jacket they present an aire of gentility and elegance wherever they are worn. Choose from the styles below in your choice of fabric and trims.
