The Adult Drop Sleeve Shirt The DROP SLEEVE SHIRT was popular during the height of the Fur Trade Era about 1800 to 1850 when more fitted clothing became stylish. Worn as a work shirt by fur trappers, traders, settlers, and explorers this European styled shirt was common to both rich and poor. The blousy fit and large sleeves allow plenty of freedom of movement needed for frontier life. Ours features a lace up front closure or tie string closure and handmade deer antler buttons on the cuffs. We use handmade, rustic antler buttons or wooden ones on all our shirts. Choose from the Self Tie Neck Version or the Buckskin Lace Version, both shown below. Feel free to phone 406-961-4317 or
HERE'S GLEN WEARING OUR DROP SLEEVE SHIRT IN OSNABURG, a homespun looking fabric of the day. This shirt would generally be worn with a large belt over top that a Mountain Man would slip his knife and hawk into to have them ready at a moments notice. This shirt can also be worn with a large belt over top that a Mountain Man would slip his knife and hawk into.
