Youth Sized Frontier Shirt- Osnaburg

Description

This shirt style was worn through much of the 1800’s by boys and men of working class lives. This one is made from osnaburg which is a primitively loomed cotton. The threads are thick and not tightly spun so it is a form of homespun fabric that was made in this country so long ago.  Rich people had finer and softer fabrics but this was a cotton of the average person of little means.  Mountain man era clothing was largely made of this and other homespun cottons which we offer elsewhere on our site.

THe tie at the neck style was the most common and the earliest closure but a laced v-neck is acceptable.
