Description
The poor boy or working boy, which is just about all the boys who were not actually wealthy, this shirt would be made in it’s plainest form. The original shirts for this group called for “Drogheda or Lancashire cloth’, presumably a coarse woolen cloth. THe pattern instructions include excellent information as to fabrics, buttons, and all the rest.
Shirts should be made to come to the knee. THere are excellent directions on how to measure the boy and use the pattern to accomplish the perfect shirt fit.
Shirt sizing is 4-6-8-10-12-14 and for the Work Shirt sizing it is 6-8-10-12-14 as size 4 would not be a working child yet even in those days where children started to work very young.
