This is a great and very comfy split skirt for riding or otherwise. This skirt was not worn until the very late 1800’s as men regarded it vulgar for a lady to sit astride a horse and she had to ride side saddle not needing such a garment.
The first split skirts looked like any other skirt when walking around. Then the idea became more acceptable and women started to wear skirts like this.
